In the framework of a public presentation held on Wednesday 30 October, an association of 200 private banks the German has praised the launch of a currency european digital, an idea launched by the minister of Finance German Olaf Scholz since little.

Europe needs to work more on the adoption of the emerging technology
Founded in 1951, the Association of German banks is a pressure group bringing together more than 200 private commercial banks such as Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse and Commerzbank.
Noting the benefits the politico-financial provided by crypto-currencies, the association would have recently urged the european central Bank to develop a Euro digital programmable.
In this perspective, the association has made calls for the development of a payment platform pan-european common although Europe already has a space single euro payments area (SEPA), a system of instant payments.
Aware of the deficiencies in the crypto-currency in terms of privacy, liquidity and volatility, the association stressed, however, that the banking sector should work with the european central banks so that the payment system at the continental level to take responsibility for the problems existing at the level of the protection of privacy, the risk of money laundering and the financing of terrorism, among others.
A strategy that would enable Europe to keep a leading position on the financial plan
The idea of launching a digital currency representing the european interest is also motivated by the resurgence of parallel projects carried out by China or even the United States, with the Libra, or and the other projects of digital currencies prepared by the BCOP in particular.
The association would have advanced on this subject :
“This is the only way to resist the competitive pressure from technology companies to the u.s. and soon probably the chinese too.”
