Uganda is a victim of a new scam in crypto-currencies

Last month, the crypto-company Dunamiscoins has managed to attract investors in a pyramid scheme (Ponzi scheme). Promising a return on investment of 40% by joining the company, Dunamiscoins requested that participants inject 20 000 ugandan shillings.

40% of profits

Dunamiscoins is a company that works with actors with foreign exchange and money transfer in Uganda. Recently, the company launched a tempting offer whereby any person who would like to join the company by injecting 20 000 ugandan shillings (5 us dollars), in lieu of a registration fee, could get a return on investment of 40%.
However, these offers did not constitute as a scam since a month after its launch, the local Dunamiscoins Resources Limited, based in Masaka was empty. At the same time, the site as well as telephone contacts of the company are no longer available since the beginning of the month of December.

The crypto-online businesses are not regulated in Uganda

The upsurge of scams to the exit (exit scam and other pyramid schemes of crypto-currencies in Uganda reflect the deficiency of the regulation of digital activities on the territory.
Actually, no specific legislation deals with currently emerging technologies such as the Blockchain or crypto-currencies in the country, opening a breach to hackers and other types of project scam.
In addition, the deputy governor of the Bank of Uganda has already warned about the risks inherent in the crypto-investments in the month of June. The latter stressed in particular the incompetence of the institutions to protect victims in the event of loss of money in investments in non-regulated as the purchase of new tokens or the trading of crypto-currencies.
