The Blockchain, to trace the meat

The technology Blockchain, which offers a network immutable, distributed, and ultra-secure is becoming more and more accessible over time among companies in the distribution, and other logistics. Recently, it is UPS who has requested the platform to ensure the traceability of its supply of meat from the United States to Japan.
As indicated in the press release of the company, UPS has partnered with the company agro-food HerdX to implement its products (the meat) in the network of digital storage is immutable from its packaging. In this perspective, the meat was endowed with a system of identification that allows you to control the procurement at any stage, from Kansas to Japan.

A first delivery verified by the diplomatic personnel

The delivery of the meat from the Usa to Japan, by UPS is part of a pilot project supported by the embassy of both countries to monitor the effectiveness of the system. In this perspective, the delivered product has arrived at its destination before being routed to a steakhouse in Tokyo, where the personnel could trace its origin via a scan by QR Code.
Note that the use of the Blockchain as the basis of follow-up meat is not new. In 2018, the Korean government like other chinese companies, such as JD.com had also requested the technology to monitor the supply chain of the meat.
