Key facts:

The team behind the project was able to increase process efficiency by over 35%.

The signature ChainGO developed a Restful API, which allows interoperability between various networks.

The startup Spain ChainGO Tech created a platform blockchain for traceability of documents and information shared among the agents of the supply chains. The logistics software Freight, as it is called, it uses the technology of the strings of blocks to simplify the processes of one of the sectors more global and complex, that there are, as noted by the company on their website.

The platform Freight the application uses the Restful approach to enable interoperability on different networks, blockchains, one of the features of this solution that, since last year, has been integrated with some of the top agents of the industry, from importers, exporters such as Cemex; up to logistics operators and transients as Carex Logistics, as reflected in a publication of the middle English Innovative.

“In the case of Carex Logistics we were able to increase the ability of an agent to manage documents between eight to 18 exports per week. At the same time, the project developed with JCV Shipping within the Programme Blockchers we were able to increase the efficiency of the process by more than 35% at the time of documentation management”, mentioned the CEO of the startup, Andres Garrido to detail recent accomplishments, in conversation with the above-mentioned means.

Blockchers, an innovation project created by the European Union (EU) to demonstrate the feasibility of the technologies Blockchain and DLT in small and medium-sized enterprises (Smes), traditional selected to the startup of Spain to participate in your program along with other emerging companies from across Europe.

ChainGO had the task of working in partnership with the Smes of maritime transport JVC, to develop an interconnection between the two systems, to store documents and relevant information, and create a copy of the original immutable. The project sought to connect to the JVC with their customers and track the movement, signatures, and documents.

The experience had as a result, the registration of the documents shared through the platform of JCV Shipping (SonarVision) in the network of Alastria. Within the scope of the project ChainGO developed a Restful API that allowed for the interoperability to make records also in Ethereum.

During the testing of the project, there were over 50 documents are immutable, which could validate and sign by third parties, thanks to the ability to invite other actors, coming to integrate up to 20 in the network Alastria.

Blockchain for the transportation by sea, land or air

The solution of the Spanish startup, which works for the maritime transport, by air, land or rail, allows you to identify the documentation more urgent among all the open orders and manage orders, both of shipping, such as ground and air. “We are making a great effort to offer free, for two months, our software technology blockchain, so that all logistics operators who are now working from house can do their work while maintaining efficiency and preserving the productivity and the visibility of their operations,” noted the company in order to contribute to mitigate the effects of the pandemic by COVID-19 who are leaving devastating effects on the freight industry.

Last January, as reported Breaking News, a study of the consulting firm and research of information technologies, Gartner stated that 80% of the initiatives blockchain-related supply chains will remain in pilot phase until the year 2022. The report notes that at present these initiatives have models of working that do not adapt to the needs of the industry.

The information the consultant agrees with the results of a report by the Center of Technology Blockchain University college London (UCL CBT), based on the follow-up to 105 projects between November 2018 and January 2019. The study established that despite the benefits that the technologies blockchains offer in the different processes of the supply chains, there are important challenges to be solved, before a mass deployment of the same.

However, the technology market of Spain and Latin america related to blockchain or chain of blocks will experience a remarkable growth during the next three years. A report prepared by the Spanish firm Ametic determines that this technology, which is the basis of the new digital processes, will have a sustained growth in Spain, where there is a projected investment by 2020 that will exceed $ 100 million.
