The repression strengthened
The controversy around the Libra doesn’t always. If on the one hand, the project tries to convince the authorities of its enormous potential and on the other side, the legislators will try to discourage them by showing regulatory issues.
According to Gabor Gurbacs, the director of Digital Assets Strategy at VanEck, a handful of partner companies have been forced to leave the crypto-project.
It has, in this regard, argued in a tweet :
“Every company that leaves the Libra is probably, in some ways, obligated to do so. It is really unfortunate and I am sorry that the financial markets are not free. Now you understand why the resistance to censorship is important! “

Apparently, these companies have received letters from some us senators, in which they ask the partners of Libra to withdraw from the project, otherwise submit to the regulatory obligations insurmountable.
The crypto-industry is stifled by DRY
According to Gurbacs, regulatory constraints, had always been a stumbling block for businesses looking to move forward in the crypto-industry.
Recently, the SEC has rejected a request for approval on an ETF Bitcoin after having postponed its verdict time and time again. VanEck, who is interested in this business, proceeded with the withdrawal of its ETF just a month before the SEC makes a ruling definitively on the approval or the rejection of his application.
