After a category 5 hurricane struck the caribbean island, the Bahamas are at a critical moment. The damage to the infrastructure is abysmal, thousands of people have lost their homes due to the ravages of nature, and the recovery will be a long and costly process that will require support from the local and multinational. The biggest impact has received the north of the island, where the humanitarian crisis generated by the passage of the hurricane has left the residents, and in particular to vulnerable groups such as children, youth, and elders in a critical situation. Basic services such as electricity and water, as well as products of first necessity such as food or medicines, are in short supply in these moments, requiring humanitarian support urgent for the area. Early estimates speak of billions of dollars needed to rebuild and return to normalcy of the island. This situation of devastation has been observed by the companies of the island, and, in particular, PO8, a company dedicated to the development of technology Blockchain, whose headquarters is located in the Bahamas, and that before the devastation suffered by the island has decided to put hands to work and collaborate with the reconstruction. To this end, PO8 has decided to launch the Bahamas Blockchain Hurricane Dorian Relief Fund, an initiative through which the company has placed on sale 8 trillion tokens, the product of the sale of which is expected to assist in the humanitarian relief effort. PO8 has created the option to carry out donations in Ethereum through their web page or in dollars through a GoFundMe open for the company. All of these funds will be administered by a group of companies and organizations, particularly the Rotary Club of the Bahamas, receiving the donor in exchange for the money given tokens PO8 by an amount equal to that given in donation. This type of initiatives from the private sector, remind us of one of the characteristics of the new economy in construction: the humanization of the capital. When companies such as PO8, bind the form entirely selfless to an effort of charity as this, they are demonstrating that they have not only embraced the technology Blockchain to generate profits, but to give back to society a little of what this has given him, especially in a time of need as they have created the Hurricane Dorian in the Caribbean.
