Sony will develop a MaaS (Mobility-as-a-Service) technology-based Blockchain. The goal is to create a platform of common database, with features of transparency and security, which achieved the record of data transport to more than 7 million people. MaaS multi-modal combines information of several transport services such as buses, trains, taxis, shared vehicles, and bicycle rental. In addition, it presents some details of which include the route, time required, and the total cost of each of them. The most important role of the Blockchain in these services, is the ability to record and share the travel history of anonymous users. Sony predicts that on a daily basis more than 7 million people use the service.

Blockchain as a business
The project BSDB (Blockchain Common Database) is the result of the Program Blockchain Challenge. This program was the result of an initiative of the technology MaaS, proposed in 2019 by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management of the Netherlands. Among the participants, only the BCDB Sony was able to comply with regulatory specifications required by the ministry. Making it the first project of the industry, in successfully performing the registration through the use of technology Blockchain for MaaS. “BCDB has led to record and share information in a Ledger between several transport operators, transaction processors, and service providers of MaaS. Allowing the use of information with reliability and transparency, and to deploy it as a service”. Said Sony in a press release.
How do you serve?
Is used to create networks where programs and information are difficult to destroy or alter, it is great to share and manage data and information confidential. What finally allows you to, use information with security and transparency and to implement it as a service. In addition, in Europe, several organizations are trying to promote MaaS to include multiple transport operators. The use of services such as BCDB, in the first place, it can contribute to improve future technologies and solutions in smart cities, with the possibility of using Blockchain. BCDB is not limited to the technology of MaaS, as it can be integrated, finally, with any service focused on recording and sharing data. For example, the platforms IoT that work with a large amount of data from sensors interconnected between them. Finally, the Sony Group is expanding the application of the technology Blockchain in various areas. Highlighting that the most important is the development of systems of authentication, and management authority for educational data. Given that encouraging the development of a system of processing rights information of digital content in the field of entertainment. Sony will develop a MaaS in a Blockchain, but what else can we expect in the short term?, what is Sony thinking to include technology Blockchain within your new PlayStation 5?
